Love Me & Lead Me – Or Leave Me Alone

She doesn’t need another empty hope. She doesn’t need a dream that leads to waking up and wishing she could roll over and go back to sleep, only to pick up where she left off. She needs a reality that feels like a dream. I don’t know how many dreams she’s had about what life could be like for her, but I do know that she deserves the right to live in a few of them.

And that’s where you come in…

You’re going to find her unusual at times. You’re actually going to think she’s crazy. And truth be told, sometimes she’ll drive you crazy! Before you fly off the handle, be sure to remind yourself how crazy you get sometimes. You know that stuff you think about and hide. The negative things you tell yourself sometimes and the way you compare yourself to other people. The way you get real sensitive about ‘childish’ things and literally throw ‘temper tantrums’ like a little boy. Remember that! Well, if you don’t, I’m sure she’ll tell you. You know what? I guess all of us have a little something ‘crazy’ about us.

It’s not just where you’re going that matters. It’s where you are now that makes the difference for her. She just wants you to love her for who she is. That’s it. She’s going to have moments when she’s ‘off’, and in those moments she’ll need you to be ‘on’ – all the way on!

I once said that if my my wife was dying of cancer, I would spend all I had to ‘Save Her’ and if our marriage was ever in trouble – I would spend all I had to ‘Save Us’. There is something about ‘Us’ that is so much better than just ‘Me’ alone. I can’t explain it all, but I know it’s there…

Listen, she wants to be taken somewhere. Somewhere – impossible. Somewhere – invisible. A place that only a man with a dream can bring her. She can see it and hear it everywhere she goes, but if it’s not coming from the man she loves – it’s simply not happening, for real.

So don’t just love her, but love her into something great! Lead her in directions that don’t hurt, but heal. Un-break everything that has ever been broken in her and bring into her life everything the devil made her believe she’d never have.

I know it all sounds like a lot, but trust me, you can do it. You were built for it; and if you were to be honest, you know that nothing in your life has changed you – the way ‘Love’ has.  So love her and lead her in a way that assures you’ll never – – Leave Her Alone.
